In the beginning there was Soul Train Records founded by Dick Griffey and Don Cornelius as part of the Cornelius-Griffey Entertainment Company.  In 1978 Soul Train Records was aqcuired by Dick Griffey and became part of Solar Records 1978.  These iconic labels gave the world Carrie Lucas, Shalamar, The Whispers, Lakeside, Dynasty, Babyface/The Deele, Klymaax, Midnight Star!
